my mom mentioned that chabuya was opening a branch here in los angeles. i couldn't help but get excited -- chabuya has (had?) a pretty good reputation in japan, even though it's starting to become a "chain." the chef won a ramen "tv champion" some years back (1.31.2002) and his ramen looked pretty darn good. and since the ramen restaurant selection in la isn't fantastic, any new blood is always welcome.
turns out chabuya (unfortunately, i don't have the address, but it's on sawtelle -- surprise, surprise!) just opened a few days ago. i mentioned it to JR and he was excited too. now, when will we be able to go??
